Beach description

Geremeas - dream beaches on the striking north-west coast

Geremeas is a pretty tourist area on the south coast of Sardinia: sandy beaches with perfect wind conditions for surfers and sailors – and the ideal location for families and sun worshippers. Flat beaches, bars and lounger hire create an irresistible holiday atmosphere. Golden sand and crystal-clear water that sparkles in all shades of blue provide a playground for young and old alike on the beaches that stretch along the three-kilometre Geremeas bay. One particular gem is the pebble beach Mari Pintau, which literally translates as ‘the painted sea’ and certainly lives up to its name.

The dream beaches of Geremeas in detail

Kal’e Moru

Small and laid-back: Kal’e Moru is the western part of Geremeas bay and offers a beautifully golden section that never gets overcrowded. The beautiful vegetation in the hinterland combines with the crystal-clear water to make it a real treat for the eyes. A small beach bar is the perfect place to chill out before snorkelling around a small rocky reef to discover the breathtaking underwater world. There is limited parking at the beach.

Geremeas Due

The central section of the bay, also with fine sand and Caribbean-like water.

Baccu Mandara

The eastern part of the bay exudes a slightly more rugged charm. The sand is a little coarser and the drop into the sea is relatively sudden. The crystal-clear water shimmers in shades of bright blue. The beach is well-signposted from the SP17.

Mari Pintau

This literally picturesque pebble bay is guaranteed to enchant with its stunningly clear water than shimmers in every shade of blue. It can get a little windy here, and crowded at the weekend – its beauty has meant that Mari Pintau is definitely no longer an insider’s tip. The gentle slope into the water is perfect for children, and small beach bars keep everyone refreshed. There is no car park, although it's easy just to park at the side of the SP17 (which also affords some pretty impressive views).
