Villa Eugenia - a dream-house overlooking the sea Go
down a couple of steps and along a path lined with fragrant macchia bushes and
you have reached the rocky beach facing the villa. The long white sandy beach at
Campulongu is 5 minutes walk away: a turquoise blue sea, soft, warm sand and the
imposing outlines of the unspoiled hills in the south of the island in the
background await you.
Villa Eugenia is situated in an enchanting landscape of sandy bays, rocky
inlets and unusual rock formations and has a wonderful view over the sea right
in front of the house, thanks to its location on a gently sloping hillside.
Surrounded by a large Mediterranean garden with flowering plants and the typical
macchia, Villa Eugenia makes the ideal hideaway. You get a terrific view of the
sea from the covered terrace - and you will be unable to imagine yourself tiring
of the beguiling interplay of light and shade, of the turquoise blue sea and the
dark green macchia. You will also enjoy unforgettable, mild summer evenings
under the clear and starry sky.
Modern furnishings and excellent design, lovingly styled
in even the smallest details. The house is forty years old, given that building
in similar locations on Sardinia has not been allowed for some time. The skilful
blend of old and new is what gives this villa its special charm. Bathrooms,
floors and the kitchen are new.
Villa Eugenia is completely detached and has 3 bedrooms. One double bedroom
and one single bedroom with 2 beds, as well as a modern bathroom with a shower,
are situated on the ground floor. There is a further double bedroom with
en-suite bathroom on the first floor, which has a charming, small, Sardinian
iron balcony, offering views of the mountains to the west. The living-room is
laid out entirely in white, with comfortable seating and a circular dining-table
close to the modern, fully-equipped kitchen (black granite worktops,
washing-machine and dishwasher). There is also access to the second terrace,
which is protected from the wind and is situated behind the house, facing away
from the sea.
The focal point for outdoor living is the terrace with a view of the sea,
which is furnished with nice wooden furniture and two comfortable sunbeds. The
villa is surrounded by a garden, which has carefully tended patches of lawn - a
special luxury in the south of the island - surrounded by centuries old macchia
bushes and two gnarled olive trees.
In the immediate neighbourhood A supermarket and two
restaurants are within walking distance. More shops, a typical Sardinian weekly
market and a great choice of first-class restaurants are only five minutes away
by car, in the picturesque and lively village of Villasimius and its surrounding
area. A marina is also within walking distance, where you can go on fabulous
day-trips to the offshore islands of Serpentara and Molinara.
