Alone on the
beach
The Bau Cannas villa is situated on a dune only 50m
from Torresalinas beach, in a picturesque setting under the juniper trees
overlooking the sea. Close to the house, you will find everything that comprises
Sardinia's natural beauty: lagoons with flamingos, a hilly hinterland,
undeveloped sandy beaches stretching to Cape Ferrato, 8 km away and a rocky cape
with a lighthouse, a protected natural landscape. A private footpath takes you
from the house down to the fabulous beach, which is never overrun, even in the
high season.
Sunlit all day long
Because of its southwesterly setting
facing the sea, the house and its terrace are bathed in light all day long,
bright and cheerful. The furnishings have been lovingly chosen by the villa's
owners, bearing in mind the requirements of a large family. The living-room has
a seating area around the cosy indoor fireplace, as well as a dining-table near
the windows facing the sea. Both the big bedrooms have double beds and each has
an en-suite bathroom - one with a shower, the other with a bath and a shower.
What's more, the house also has a small children's bedroom with bunk-beds and a
washbasin. The nicest room in the house, the upstairs bedroom, has a small
balcony, where your gaze can drift out over the length of the beach. There is an
outdoor shower and a brick-built barbecue in the garden.
From the reed-covered Mediterranean terrace you look out over the unspoilt
garden, with a hammock slung between gnarled juniper trees: a place for dreaming
and celebrating, for looking and listening, because you can never get enough of
this scenery. The fantastic isolated setting of this house guarantees you
undisturbed privacy and much longed-for peace and quiet.
In the immediate vicinity
A small restaurant is within
walking distance, where you can also buy breakfast. The village of San Priamo is
2 km away, with its 'Pescheria' (fishmongers) offering freshly-caught fish
daily. In Muravera, a town 8 km away, you will find all sorts of shops including
sophisticated Italian designer fashion boutiques and wonderful Sardinian
handicrafts, above all pottery and artistic weaving. The weekly market is held
on Mondays all year round. The beaches at Feraxi, Cape Ferrato and Costa Rei are
also close to the villa. Cagliari and the airport are one hours drive away.
