Sant Elmo

The village of Rocca Sant'' Elmo was constructed in the early 1990s amidst an unspoiled natural landscape at the southern tip of Costa Rei. Vito Sonzogni’s ingenious and award-winning architecture successfully harmonizes the buildings with their surroundings and no traffic or street interferes with the experience of communing with nature. A sea of flowers surges up between two granite rock formations. The villas themselves are right on the beach at Sant'' Elmo and a parking lot, grocery store and pizzeria are conveniently located right behind the houses. Sant’Elmo consists of three interconnected groups of houses, with Rocca Sant’Elmo the self-enclosed central complex. At the southern end of the island lies the five-star Hotel S. Elmo beach, which is fenced in and barely visible as it is situated at the edge of the hills.

The restaurants in the area serve typical Sardinian cuisine and are only a few minutes away by car. You’ll also find outstanding food in Villasimius, which is the closest large town and is easily reached via a recently built inland road. Villasimius’ harbor is a jumping off point for excursions to the offshore islands and is ten minutes away by car. Costa Rei, which is only two kilometres distant, offers restaurants, additional shopping options, boat rentals, a scuba diving school, tennis courts and horseback riding
