Pula

A half hour’s drive west of Cagliari lies the charming village of Pula with its narrow winding streets and patrician homes, a village where everyday life unfolds to the rhythm of sun and sea. In summer, the town square is the scene of evening street dances and concerts. Pizza places and other restaurants are also to be found in Pula and the surrounding area. Tuesday is market day.The beaches offer various activities such as windsurfing and sailing; and there’s good news for golfers: the Molas golf course, one of Europe’s most beautiful, is only a few minute’s away by car.

The sparsely populated stretch of coast between Capo Teulada and the popular seaside resort of Santa Margherita di Pula offers a varied landscape of unmatched loveliness.

The great advantage of staying here is that your accommodations are right on the beach, which means there’s no need to bother with your car all day long. The beach, shopping and restaurants, including a pizza place, are all within walking distance and Pula is only four kilometres away.

Renowned phenomena of nature in this area include the sandy beaches at the Bay of Nora (only a few kilometres away) and the juniper-covered sand dunes at Chia, whose crystal clear, aquamarine waters are immaculately beautiful. And if it’s your lucky day, you might catch a glimpse of dolphins and, on the lake, flamingos. Not far from Pula is Nora, a large Roman amphitheatre that lies directly on the sea and is used for a music festival in summer.
