Located near Aritzo 900m up in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty, this informal 4-star hotel considers itself to be customer-friendly and typical of the area. This rustic-style hotel lies in the heart of Sardinia and is an ideal departure point for walks.
Rooms
The 55 well-kept and comfortably furnished rooms have everything: shower/WC, telephone, TV, mini-bar, safe as well as a hairdryer and the majority have a view over the mountains. The new building next door has 14 Junior Suites and 8 Suites, with wonderful views of the Gennargentu mountains, one of Sardinia’s highest mountain ranges.
Restaurant
The restaurant is furnished in Sardinian style and offers excellent cooking with local specialities. The Hotel Su Muvara also has a separate open-air restaurant with barbecue, as well as a cosy bar. Hotel and its facilities
An extensive and shaded park with footpaths and peaceful benches lies adjacent. The hotel also has a sauna and an indoor swimming-pool. A small beauty salon and gym are also housed there.
Excursions
The hotel offers an attractive programme of excursions into the unspoilt countryside. For example, you can take Jeep tours to the nearby valleys and gorges, including a Sardinian grilled banquet, or take part in trips to other very interesting tour destinations. These include Belvi, which is not far away, with its very comprehensive Sardinian natural history museum, and Fonni, the ‘Roof of Sardinia’ in the highest part of the Gennargentu range, with its old customs and traditions, wild landscape and countless flocks of sheep. You can also explore the still totally unspoilt countryside around Aritzo on foot – an especially fascinating experience.
