Beach description

Is Arutas - colourful pebble beach in the west of Sardinia

Is Arutas is a truly unique beach on the wild west coast of Sardinia: tiny, polished quartz stones shimmer in white,  pink, grey and amber. This beach, also adorned with picturesque granite rocks, drops suddenly into the turquoise water and is perfect for snorkelling. Schools of fish, sea grass and many other marine species can be observed by those keen to don their diving fins and goggles. The beautiful beach in the Gulf of Oristano is expansive and equipped with lounger hire. Those looking for a little more peace and quiet can simply keep away from the areas near the car park – a stroll along the colourful, shimmering beach is always worth it. Take care, however: it is forbidden to take the small, round pebbles from the beach and fines are imposed.

A little more to the north of Spiaggia Is Arutas lies another extensive, idyllic beach with quartz stones. Mari Emi also sparkles in iridescent colours, which merge seamlessly with the Caribbean-like water.
