Choosing the right travel insurance is just as important as choosing the right accommodation. A travel insurance policy can reimburse you for the cancellation fees imposed by the travel company. Depending on terms and conditions, and the date of return, these can represent up to 100% of the cost of the trip. Furthermore, depending on the tariff, the insurance will meet the cost of the return journey, if you need to curtail your trip for a valid reason.
To make choosing the right travel insurance easier for you, here we provide you with a short summary of the most important insurance options:
Travelling by Plane
Travel Cancellation Full ProtectionThe travel costs to be insured include the total price of the holiday villa or flat and the cost of the flights. Insurance is possible per family or per person (the travel costs will be split between the persons travelling on a pro-rata basis). Alternatively, you can also insure the flights separately on booking through the relevant supplier (e.g. via the airline). That just leaves the cost of the holiday home as the only item to be insured (the total price, not per person).
Travelling by Ferry
Travel Cancellation Full ProtectionHere, the travel costs to be insured include the total price of the holiday villa or flat and the cost of the ferry and can be insured per person or per family. Alternatively, you can also insure the ferry crossing separately on booking through the relevant supplier (e.g. via the ferry company). That just leaves the cost of the holiday home as the only item to be insured (the total price, not per person).
You can now insure your trip direct online. Payment can be easily made by credit card or direct debit.
